I just got Fios TV - I used to have over the air TV. (Still have the antenna) I have noticed that FIOS seems to be missing some of the over-the-air stations. Particularly:
13-2 (PBS - KERA World)
8-2 (WFAA - [ABC] weather channel)
8-3 (Owned by WFAA but broadcasts some other network)
I though all cable companies were required to carry all of the local over the air channals... Is there a way to get these channels added. (Particularly 13-2) 8-2 is really useful when there is bad weather... and in Texas we get bad weather.
Thanks

Note subchannels are NOT classified as must carry by the FCC, only the main channel is. All you can do is request the subchannels at the idea section at this forum.

Can't say for sure without checking your specific FiOS plan (i.e., tier level and location by zip code), but in my experience essentially all of the channels available OTA are shown on the typical FiOS subscription. Of course these channels will not be listed in the digital format of, e.g.., "13-2" or similar, but will be converted to channel numbers without the dash.
Your best bet is to check the listings online or get your hands on a channel listing for your location that's available at the typical FiOS store (locations also available online).
Good luck.
I have gone thru all of the stations... They are not there. I have looked at the FCC rules...

It looks like they only have to update every 3 years.

I have looked into FiOS near Dallas and found KERA. Here's what I did:
1.) Go to http://www.titantv.com/
2.) Enter your area (by zip code) and service provider. I chose as examples Keller TX and FiOS TV - Keller.
3.) Sort the listings by call sign (far left column).
4.) My display shows KERA as Channel 13. Link: http://www.titantv.com/programming/channel.aspx/callsign/KERA-DT/channel/13/major/0/minor/0/cid/1448...
Not sure that you will get the same result I did for all the channels you're looking for, but it's worth a try. When you consider what they pay us here for this kind of free research, I don't think you're getting a bad deal.

Thanks - I know that KERA 13-1 is available. Unfortunately KERA-nature 13-2 does not seem to be available. I suspect that I will need to just continue to use the antenna on the top of my house and maybe get a Samsung Blu-ray with the FIOS TV app.

I have gone back to over the air TV. At some point I might get a LG or Samsung "Smart TV" bluray - which allows one to watch FIOS TV via the internet. However, at this point I get a better selection of channels with the over the air setup.

Note the Samsung and LG Smart TV suport is absolutely terrible with skipping and jittering. Also you olny see a subset of FIOS TV channels nowhere close to all of them. Verizon offically dropping support for oneof the two. I can't remember which but it does not matter since I would bet the other will be droped soon enough.
