Happy fios customer here.
I will be moving to a bigger house in over a month and starting to think how to do the new setup.
I currently have 3 TVs, Cisco boxes, whole home DVR, 75/75 Internet. In the new home I will be adding 2 TVs for a total of 5.
Questions: I know Verizon is trying to push the Quantum system, but I read a lot of complaints about the performance. What should I go for? Can you share your experience if you have tried both systems?
As far as connection, the new house has already ONT in the garage, plus every room is wired with CAT5 originating from the basement, where presumably there was a large Ethernet hub/switch. Obviously I would want wireless as well as wired connections where possible.
Questions: what's the optimum setup in this situation? Should I ask for the Quantum Getaway? Placement?
Thanks
You may get Quantum regardless of what package you order.
I find mine to be fairly stable.
And an upgrade is expected by the end of June.
You will want your router to be either near the center of the house or you may want to consider a second access point to help with wireless coverage.
