Alright. Here we go...
Is there any way that I can run an ethernet cable from the ONT to the Set Top Box and receive the TV Guide services? If not, can I open ports on my firewall and run a cat5 from my unmanaged switch to the Set Top Box? If neither of these options are viable, is there any other way to get the TV Guide services and not be locked into using the Quantum GW? I'd very much rather not use that thing. Thanks in advance!
So you need a router.
If firewall can also act a router start with that.
There are folks that have used their own routers, but it does take a bit of work to make sure all of the correct ports are open.
