You guys are soooo helpful with info. Imagine my surprise when I read this:
http://www.engadget.com/2012/11/27/verizon-nbcuniversal-tv-everywhere/
AND this:

So there is still no NBCUS channel on my fios lineup... I don't see ANYTHING in VOD, and nobody seems to know anything about this. But worst of all, NO INFO I CAN FIND TELLs ME HOW TO WATCH NBC!!!!
Is this stuff for real? Or is this just some nonsense? I'm dying here, w/o FIS world cup coverage.
If this is for real, where do I find this stuff? (Of course knowing how VZW works, I'll probably have to pay more...)
If this is for real please please please... sombody at VZW comment... please!!!!!!
I hope I put this in the right place... sorry if I didnt...
Well all your anger should be focused on NBC that took the completely free NBC sub channel NBC Universal Sports and YANKED it away from everyone. Now NBC is asking everone to pay extra for it. I call that extortion. Note Cablevsion, Verizon and TWC all do not have this channel. Hopefully no companies give NBC any money for this channel. If they do we can expect to see all free TV go away for greedy corporate profits.

I could not agree more!!! I love how the uninformed instantly start screaming it is Verizon’s fault that Universal Sports was dropped, it wasn’t. Nobody is carrying Universal Sports in HD and I believe the only one carrying Universal Sports at all is DirecTV.
To the OP you need to be complaining to NBC/Universal, it was their GREED that caused the channel to go away.
I read everything you posted on both links and I didn't see anything about NBC Universal Sports. NBC Sports Network was mentioned several times, but I didn't see anything about NBC Universal Sports. NBC Universal Sports and NBC Sports Network are not the same thing.
Unfortunately, jss9669 is correct. Neither of these articles are referring to the NBC Universal Sports channel. Verizon has, and has had for a while now, all of the other NBC channels. I am a huge fan of ice skating, gymnastics and downhill skiing. I would gladly trade 90% of my sports channels for Universal Sports and the Tennis Channel (still just an Extreme member). But that's not the way the world works. So here's me still hoping that one day Verizon and NBCU will reach a deal. Till then...
