I read that FIOS offers NESN National for folks that don't live in New England. I wanted to know if it is available and how I can get it.
NESN is only avaiable in standard definition on channel 97 ,I dont know what package you need to get the channel ,but i get the channel on the ultimate package. Keep in mind the national version of this channel does not show any red sox games ""live"" nor taped! They also do not carry the bruins ""live'' games but i have seen them showing some taped games ,but i dont know know if the games are from this season or years past as i dont watch hockey.

You are correct, while Verizon can carry the channel contractually they are not allow to show any live sports for any of the major sports teams outside the New England area. (due to NFL/NHL/NBA/MLB restrictions)
I think they channel is also part of the Ultimate HD package and the Sports Packages only. I don't think (but am not 100% sure) that Extreme or Prime subscribers can view the channel unless they also subscribe to the Sports Package.
