New IP Media Center Causes Bars at Top & Bottom of Screen

Just installed the new IP media center - really not happy with the results- experiencing bars on top and bottom of the screen for most ( but not all) non HD channels - very random. Tried adjusting settings on the stb - no luck. Adjusted picture settings on the TV's ( zoom feature) - but that leaves the information banner distored - even on the HD channels. All TVs are brand new. Verizon tech spent several hours but couldn't figure out how to correct. thinking about switiching over to Xfinty - does anyone have any feedback on that service?

On your remote hit Menu then Settings then Audio and Video then Video Settings then  Sd Override then Stretch. This will stretch standard channels but will not distort the guide.

Also go to Menu then Settings then System then Television then scroll down to Auto Tune to HD Channels and select ON. Then you will always go to HD channel if one is available.
