I woke up 2 AM this past Sunday and started flipping channels. Lo and behold, Starz channels were enabled!
When I checked My Messages on the TV, there was zippo about a free Starz weekend. Usually, either an annoying new message covering the entire screen (until I mark it read) advertises it, or there's a postcard or a commercial.
It was advertised on the on demand main screen where they run all the other ads. I think it's ridiculous that they dont' send out a message to all their subscribers. That's what DTV used to do when I had it...
I read about this on the Verizon at home (Blog) which is part of these forum pages. If I had not seen that I too would have never known about the free weekend.
Why all the secrecy? Verizon sent out a ton of messages about the Red Zone (which is a pay service) yet they don't tell anyone when something is free.
This should have been sent out in a message available to read on the STB.
Poor Communications Verizon. Get with it please.
