Why should I have to pay for CBS shows on the FiOS TV app when I can watch the most recent episodes for free on my Set Top Box?
Take for example H50, I can watch the 5 most recent episodes for free without paying but on the FiOS TV app, I have to pay $2 per episode? Why?
CBS is charging Verizon (and undoubtedly other providers) for this content.
They have their own streaming service.
If you were CBS, would you rather have others collecting some of the money for these older episodes (service providers get a cut of the VOD fees) or drive people to your own streaming service and get all the money to yourself?
Why are the 5 most recent episodes of CBS shows on the set top box but not on the FiOS app? On the FiOS app, I have to pay for the same episodes when I can just watch them on my FiOS set top box for free. However, sometimes I want to watch TV while I'm on the go and I don't want to have to pay for those episodes.
Most likely that the contract FiOS has with CBS does not allow it.
