So for the last couple of years when ever I played my PS3 and now my PS4 it kicks the STB off the network where I cannot record movies or see program guide. I have to reboot the router each time to get the STB back on the network. Is there a configuration setting on the STB or router to prevent this?

Do you have more than 1 STB?
If so, does it always happen to the same one or random?
If you check STB ip address before you conenct PS4 and then check PS4 ip after you connect it, are they different?

Definitely odd. I have had both a ps3 and a ps4 connected for years and never saw Verizon (or now Frontier) STB get kicked off the network.
Which Router. Do you use UPnP (default) or did you configure your IP ports for access or possibly chose DMZ. Did you force a IP address on the PS3/PS4. WiFi or wired connection.
