All, as of 11PM / 7 Jan 13 Verizon has yet to come to an agreement with WAVY and WVBT for continued broadcasting. Please contact Verizon at 1-800-837-4966 and WAVY at 1-800-948-7240 and ask them to work it out!! The current agreement ends on 10 Jan at 5PM!
As of noon of today (01/08/13) Verizon and these channels have not reached an agreement, but Verizon rep said that they are very close and should not interrupt broadcasts.
Of course they will come to an agreement. WTVR in Richmond and WTKR in Norfolk were trying to scare people by telling them Verizon would be dropping their channels on January 1. Incredibly, they came to an agreement a few hours before the deadline.
Well, I just called and they said they are not carrying Wavy or Fox anymore...so COX cable here I come!!
To be fair, you should switch providers and never watch those channels either. No sense in blaming only one party when both have the power to come to an agreement.
Do they ever not come up with a deal eventually? The only time I can think of was when Cox quit carrying WAVY for a few weeks maybe 15-20 years ago.
The obtrusive scrolling tickers when I'm watching a show are incredibly obnoxious ... I wish they'd get rid of those.
