Having just switched from BrightHouse to Fios I was surprised to learn that many TVMA programs are listed as NR in the Fios guide. This basically defeats using the parental controls offered by Fios... or at least makes it a real hassle to watch local news and other non-adult programming that is listed as NR too. These TVMA shows that have strong sexual content must have a rating... why does Fios not use them? BrightHouse and Comcast do. My younger kids can easily stumble on to these shows if I don't lock out NR ratings. Also, the parental controls on other cable providers allow you to block "violence" or "sex" or "language", ect in addition to ratings. This gives parents even greater flexibility. I hope Fios looks into this quickly, it's disappointing to have all the advantages of Fios, but yet be well behind the curve on parental controls.
