When I use remote to turn on TV a screen message appears the says. Use menu button or turn off Tv to get TV to turn on. Sometimes this worke buy I am tired of thispractice. Do I need a new remote?

That's the screensaver for the stub.

No reason to turn it off as it doesn't save any electricity.

What model remote do you have?
