Removing HD channels is unacceptable. This is an absolute step backwards for FIOS.
Even if they are just time shifted west coast feeds, if the channel is available in HD is needs to be carried in HD. If channels need to be removed to make bandwidth for new channels, SD channels that have also have a HD feed should be dropped. Particularly Premium channels (How many premium channel customers don't have HD in 2010 !!?? ) An HD STB can easily down convert those channels for SD customer that wish to receive them.
Wake Up Verizon!!

I absolutely agree. That was one of the BIG reasons I left Comcast was because they were dropping channels. As long as Verizon continue to carry those god awful .tv channels they have NO excuses. The fact they are wasting bandwidth to carry those SIX garbage channels almost nobody watches and that most of the time are airing INFOMERCIALS IN SD is a total pathetic disgrace!!!!!!!!! And now they want to drop channels people actually watch.
My 2 year contract was up las tmonth and I am now weighing my options. If Verison doesn't replace these dropped channels with the likes of BBCA-HD, G4 HD, etc. then I am going to drop them.
The removal of TMC west feeds is a major disappointment for me. I can’t believe the number of warning messages I’ve received in the past couple of weeks because I was watching a soon to be removed TMC channel. I think TMC has a lot of unique flixs. Most recently I saw “50 Dead Men Walking” on a TMC west feed. An outstanding movie IMHO on the troubles in Northern Ireland, based on the book and a true story. If Verizon provided a DVR with a half decent capacity or provided most/all of the VOD titles that the TMC website said were available each week it would be no big deal. Why does the TMC website list so many movies that are available on demand but there not on FIOS VOD? FIOS carries all of the MAX VOD titles. Dear FIOS, if you remove the two TMC channels, please start giving us the movies listed on the TMC website as available “On Demand” on your VOD in HD. Or give us a decent DVR for our money. And if you plan to add any channels, please add BBCA-HD!
Before ANY channels are removed, the six .TV channels should be deleted. In January 2010 I was “upgraded” to the Ultimate HD package. In February 2010 I downgraded to the Extreme HD package and subscribed to the movies-premium add-on because I could not stomach subscribing to any package that actually charged me to receive the six garbage .TV channels.
