Removal of Hallmark Channel - 239

I want to know how verizon can just drop channels, e.g., Hallmark channel, when we choose our plan based on the channels offered to us.  Hallmark channel has been part of my plan and was available until all of a sudden on 7/29/14 I received the message I no longer can access the Hallmark channel because it is no longer part of my package.  How can this be when it was part of the package for years???

There are already a few threads on this subject.

It all has to do with contracts between the network and Verizon.

It's in the terms of service that they can remove, add, change and do whatever they want with channels at anytime. ALL cable providers are like this and do it.

The costs of channels (i.e. the per subscriber fees) are constantly increasing which leaves Verizon 2 options; either continously increase the cost of the packages or remove certain channels. Verizon is NOT the only cable company that does this, they ALL (Comcast, Directv, DISH, TWC, etc) do. It is not unique to Verizon.

While I don't like it either, it is in the contract we all agreed to. They have the right to change the channel offerings within each package. This is why I would love to see Ala Carte pricing. But the channel providers would never ever go for it.
