I am seeing the big ad at the bottom of the TV guide. Most of the time it is Disney. When they first put it there, it did not even work. It said to push the yellow trianle button with the A on it...Nothing happened. I thought it might let me in to disable it...Now it works and you are flooded with more movie title than you can read. I pay $150.00 a month for a single DVR and a router. I do not want anything else Verizon has to offer. They are just mad with greed.

Can someone please tell me how to disable or turn off the stupid Disney ad at the bottom of the guide??? All of a sudden the guide changed and I would love for it to go back to the old way. Also when I choose Option>Subscribed channels for my default view, it always resets to HD Channels. I have the remember last guide view setting enabled as this bugged me when I first got FIOS.
I also cannot stand the pop up ads asking you to upgrade the internet for $10/mo extra. It says push OK in giant letters or you can press Exit which is written very small in the corner. I believe this is designed to get my child who turns on the TV to just push OK so she can watch what she wants as she will not really understand what its asking.
If I had ATT Uverse in my area I would switch in a heartbeat. I had Uverse for two years and was never bombarded with ADS and constantly asked to UPGRADE my services as well as have all these advertisement channels in my giude listings. I feel like I'm being panhandled everytime I open the guide or turn on the TV.
Any advice on downgrading the box to the old guide would be helpful.
Thanks,
Matt

What I find most annoying is the fact the ads are a bright contrast to get yoiur attention. And the important info at the top has less contrast and is now harder to read. WTH?!
I hope Verizon will come to their senses and re-work the guide with the customer in mind this time!

I wouldn't hold my breath people. If anything, I'd expect more ads in the future. Go look at the guides from the major providers. Chock full of ads. I find Verizon's to be one of the least cluttered. Not to mention you get the options to disable promotions, pop ups, the home screen and interactive features in the settings, which isn't the case for all providers. Again, you want annoying channel ad placement, just go take a look at the Directv guide some time. They stick them in the middle of the listings.

I don't need a tip of the day screen saver... there should be a way to TURN IT OFF! It is most annoying along with Verizon advertisement at the bottom of the Menu Guide.... Whats next>? Budwiser Ads>?
If they get enough complaints maybe they will make changes... If not ... will be forced to consider switching to Direct TV via Satellite or Cablevision!
Stop fooling around with something that worked fine before... Adding advertisements are not an enhancement! Removing them is.

I had direct TV for years before switching to Verizon 1 1/2 years ago. Compared to direct TV Verizon sucks. Not only is Verizon more expensive you have to put up with {word filter avoidance} ads and now this tip of the day crap. Also no option to purchase pro football package like direct TV has. As soon as my two year contract is up in June good riddance to Verizon never to see my money again.

Really? You didn't know coming into FiOS that you couldn't get NFL Sunday Ticket? It's been a Directv exclusive forever. Don't get mad at Verizon because you didn't do your homework on that one. As for this Tip of the Day thing? I've never had it, never seen it. Go into your menu settings and choose the proper options and you'll never see it either. (Also, I have Directv as well and its guide is filled with ads for premium channels.)

Sangs not sure about the tickets but the other issue, the one of the tip of the day, you are wrong, it seems to be a bug in the new firmware, there is no option in the menu to remove the tips of the day, that by the way seems to be the tip of the week, or the month as I had the same about the settings of the sleep timer all the time, even while I have the timer off...if anybody had find any solution to that problem, please post it as Verizon had no clue on how to fix it, I spent two hours over the phone with them, two different guys, and nothing, still the freaking tip of the century!!!!

I'm upgraded to 1.95, yet I have never seen this "Tip of the Day" on any of my DVRs or STBs.

Please Remove the BIG RED HUGE AD on the guide. it is very Annoying and takes away guide space. Almost as anoying as calling Fios and speaking to employees who didn't know there even was an update. Then put you on hold for a hour to tell you they can do nothing about it
