I've been noticing this problem on my non-DVR HD box where I'm having a bit of trouble with the SD override. If I have the TV set to "Wide," the picture looks proper on HD broadcasts, but is stretched on SD broadcasts. And if the TV is in "Normal" picture mode, it looks fine on SD broadcasts, but is squished vertically on HD broadcasts. And the guide is stretched as well. I thought it was supposed to automatically change when you switched from SD to HD. I tried going into Video Format, but had no success. Has this happened to anyone else?

If your television is a 16:9 HDTV, then leave the TV Setting to Wide.
Then, to avoid the stretch-o-vision on the SD channels, go to MENU -> Settings -> Video Settings -> SD Overide and change it from 480i (which is the default) to OFF. When the SD Overide setting is OFF, the SD will be 4:3 on your TV.
