Free SHOWTIME preview this month, March 25 - 28. Don't know if THE MOVIE CHANNEL will also be included, but it's possible.

I've been on a live chat with tech support who transferred me to billing/sales. Neither was aware of the free preview. They had me call 1 888 553-1555. I was transferred several times, they reset my DVRs, reset the OINT, all to no avail. So she acknowledged that it should start today, and escalated it to the network support center where someone needs to toggle a bit in their computers to turn this on. I think they should extend it another day.
I just had a callback. She said the engineering group just concluded a call with Showtime about 20 minutes ago, the engineering group has changed the provisioning to make this work, and in about 2 hours (3:30 p.m. EDT) it should be available to all subscribers.
She said something about turning off the sets at about 3 and then turn them back on, so I guess if I don't have anything at 3 I'll reset the STBs and see what happens.

I wonder if it is a problem on Verizon's side or on Showtimes side. I cant tell personally as I subscribe to Showtime anyway but normally I HATE the free preview weekends because they put that "free preview" at the bottom of the screen. But none of my Showtime channels on either my Verizon or my Directv are showing "free preview" at the bottom like it normally would. Thats what makes me wonder if it may not be on the showtime side.

I think it was a Verizon problem. She said the engineering group had done the provisioning, which means configuring their systems to allow the programming. Several departments I spoke with weren't aware of the free preview, some thought it started tomorrow, and Elisabet finally got the right people involved and got things fixed.

A HUGE thank you to all who wrote about this one. I was on hold for.....well, I aged another year or two - this AM and finally hung up with Verizon - no one knew anything - kept transferring me - you know how it goes. I'm glad someone stuck with it, and I sure will turn it on to see if we lucked out! Thanks again! Margiesex

Well, it's now been 2:30 and still no Showtime. I called Verizon and they now say it has been postponed 24 hours to 12:01 a.m. tomorrow morning. I called my parents who have DirecTV and don't subscribe to Showtime, and they're receiving the free preview as I suspect are all the others who are participating in the free preview this weekend ( AT&T U-verse, Cablevision, Charter Communications, Comcast, DirecTV, Time Warner Cable).
So it's definitely a Verizon problem with no solution other than to wait until midnight.

I'm not getting the Showtime channels either, but I am getting all the Showtime on-demand content.
At least, I can catch up with Dexter's last season.
