If you are in Southern California, the only way to get this channel is if Verizon makes a deal to include it with all your other regional sports channels. The deal is either everyone gets it (and pays for it) or no one in the region gets to see any of the games. This channel is rumored to be the most expensive regional channel ever, priced at about $5 per subscriber. Good luck convincing Verizon that it's worth it.

Also, if they do add it expect your regional sport fee to increase quite a bit. At the end of the day it's the sports fans who pay for the teams greed. Makes it tough remaining a fan.

I hope there is a way to go down to a lower tier so we can avoid the $5.00 charge! I think they raised us $3.00 when they added the lakers channel! and even though i'm a red sox fan ,I dont watch baseball except maybe the playoffs and world series ,and ONLY if the red sox are involved.

For all those non-sports fans, I hope it does not go to a lower tier.

If Verizon does agree to carry the channel, it would be on Prime HD and above, which is where all the current regional networks are. You can avoid the price increases by getting Select HD, which has no sports channels. You would still be able to see games that are on local channels and TBS though.
