STB 7100 2 HDMI CEC Control?

My wife would like me to rid the living room of the floor stand tower speakers. Looking into a sound bar, but sound bar will block the IR port on the TV (Sony NX720). Was told by BestBuy salesman this was not a problem, you can configure to turn on/off TV via the STB HDMI. My TV does not recognize the FIOS STB for CEC control. Does this box support this protocol and if not is there another model I can request from Verizon that does?

Nope. No CEC support on any current Verizon ARRIS/Motorola models.
