STB is not controllable

All of a sudden my STB recorder started changing channels by itself - as if the channel up was stuck. I took out batteries from remote control but it did stop nor will it let me control it. When I select menu, I cannot navigate since it keeps trying to jump back to previous selection. I have tried rebooting twice after leaving off for a while -  same issue - as soon as STB is ready it does the same thing.

Any other way of resetting box?

Should I assume the box needs to be replaced but I hate loosing my recordings?

What model box do you have?

Does it do it as soon as you turn it on?

Have you tried putting something in front of the STB to block any other signals?
