Set Top Box Resets Itself and Runs Diagnostic Daily

Please help,

For whatever reason my set top box will randomly--once a day reset it self and run some diagnostic which ends up with the white diagnostic screen.

This is a real pain when you finally sit down to watch some mindless tv after a hard day at work and then your favorite program gets interrrupted.

Sounds like the box is dying.

Possibly overheating.

Is there plenty enough airflow around it?
