Set-top Box Updating

As I was watching a program, the power for the set-top box suddenly went completely off. There was no pre-warning from Verizon that they were updating and that the service would be returned after about 15 minutes. It is very perturbing and nerve-racking to have not been pre-notified of this service interruption because I was trying various troubleshooting actions to get the set-top box to power up.

The failure to communicate ahead of time about the shutdown of this service interruption is inexcusable and is a bad reflection on Verizon's Customer Service or lack thereof. I hope that in the future Verizon can at least notify its viewers of the planned service shut down with a scrolling notice on the screen - even if it's only 5 minutes ahead of time.

Updates typically happen over night automatically. Looks like maybe you set-top box didn’t take the update when it was scheduled.

Sometimes mistakes happen. Life goes on.
