Should HBO and Showtime be included with Extreme TV package

Now I just discovered recently that few people are saying that they have the Extreme TV package for Verizon and part of that package includes HBO, Showtime, and other channels. Now I have been speaking with live chat a bunch of times already and they keep saying things that HBO, Showtime are only free for 3 months for new customers while existing customers have to pay. Now all I'm getting is that they're offering me 50% off the subscription. So I would like to no if HBO, Showtime, etc are provided free of charge with those who have the Extreme package in the NYC area because I am getting a "included in TV bundle" when I checked the channel lineup for those channels.
