Has anyone noticed this? Listings in the IMG for Sony Movie Channel stop showing movie titles after 6:00 a.m. Monday September 1, 2014. All I see is "Movie," "Movie," and again "Movie." The last listing is for "The Forsaken" from 4:59 a.m. to 6:19 a.m. September 1.
Is Verizon about to discontinue Sony Movie Channel? If not, why are we not getting movie titles? Now I can go to Sony Movie Channel's web site to get the schedule. But why should I have to do that?
Solved! Go to Correct Answer
The channel is being discontinued. The guide data for the channel most likely just hasnt been updated yet considering you're saying its showing "movie" on sept 1st.

NO hint that I can find that the Sony Movie Channel is going away. I can see their schedule with Chrome, although not with IE or Firefox. Probably the data was not yet available for more then a week from now to TMS (Tribune Media Services).

I just noticed my own reply was wrong. I meant to say the channel ISNT being discontinued. I guess my phone at the time did auto spell and changed it or something.
Let me see if I have this straight: Sony Movie Channel will still be with us, but they haven't yet pushed through the movie titles. I'd go along with that, except nothing like what I'm seeing (or not seeing) on the STB-IMG has ever happened before. Not with Sony, not with any channel.
On the other hand, I can find no announcement of a channel lineup change, and no announcement from Sony that they have any plans, or find themselves forced, to discontinue their relationship with Verizon.
FWIW, the titles might be showing the generic word "Movie" and the default classification "News and Information." But AFAICT, the scheduled beginning and ending times agree with the schedule that Sony are posting on their own site.

You may not have seen it happen before, but it does happen even with other channels at times. You just haven't noticed it before. I sure have.
Tribune Media Services are the ones who push the guide data out. As it gets closer to the first you should see the guide data update.
Another thing you can try is to force the guide to update. Keep arrowing over in the guide....hold the right button down until you see the guide start saying "please wait" all over it. After you see it, exit, go back in and see if its updated. If not then Tribune Media Services hasnt yet updated the guide.
So I just checked the TV GUide website.
It shows the same thing. No detailed listing for Sony Movie channel past 9/1.
So I assume there is an issue somewhere upstream that hasn't distributed details out yet.
