There are a lot of things to test, and it's unclear from your post what you have and have not checked already.
You have to narrow down whether it is the STB or the Amplifier or a speaker.
It might be helpful if you indicate what audio output you are using from your STB.
If you are using the Analog audio (red and white RCA connectors), have you tried simply swapping left and right? That will give you an indication of whether the problem is in your STB or in your amplifier.
If you are using HDMI or Optical Digital audio input, then have you tried another component, like a DVD player, using that same input to see if you have the same problem?
Perhaps you have a blown speaker? Have you tried swapping speaker connections to see if the audio signal is getting to the speaker?
