Starz no longer has 3D Video on Demand?

This is in Boston area.  Noticed this weekend that the category for 3D movies appears to no longer exist in the video on demand menu?  Can someone from Verizon confirm if this was removed and if so do they plan to bring it back?

HBO on Demand stil has it's 3D movies category.  If Starz has been dropped this leaves only 1 choice for subscribed programming.

This is a peer to peer support forum.

So don't expect a Verizon response.

Given that there has been very little 3D content (only VOD for quite a while) would not surprise me for content provider or Verizon to remove it due to low viewership.

Not only that but i have a thread going on on DSLReports https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r30479010-Does-anyone-care-that-starz-is-missing-its-HD-VOD that shows that its also missing all HD Movies =( and thats not acceptable... 3d might be a dying medium but even cablevision has HD Starz... the thing is no one seems to care =( and where paying a ton of money and you know what verizons response to me was... "oh you should use Starz Play" I don't wanna use "starz play" just make the set top boxes work right lol

Starz has eliminated the HD category but the movie are still in HD...you just have to look forn them under "Starz Movies". But have no fear, despite what some here would like you to believe, 3D's doing okay. The sales of some titles account for up to 30% of all DVD/BD sales COMBINED!

Uh...no.  Your stament shows ignorance.  3D Blu-rays are coming more than ever before.  Just this month alone will see big titles like MARTIAN, EVEREST, THE WALK as well as smaller, oldee titles like HARLOCK, THE MASK, GOG, and COMIN' AT YA!    In addition, this past year was the debut of a new SmartTV app 3DGO (Samsung, LG, and soon Sony), offering 3D rentals including some not even on disc anywhere in the world, such as John Wayne's HONDO).  And for disc-by-mail rentals (a la Netflix), 3DBlu-Ray Rentals is doing very well. offering all available 3D titles as well as some not avilable in the U.S. (NOAH. BEOWULF. NEED FOR SPEED. etc.).

Want more?  Due to the success of his TITANIC 3D release, James Cameron is now working on TERMINATOR 2 3D! As was done with JURASSIC PARK and WIZARD OF OZ 3D, it will play theaters for a week with the disc release following shortly after.

My local Best Buy has just expanded its 3D section from one vertical rack to three! (Not counting an additional aisle display).  And with 60% of STAR WARS tickets coming from 3D, that will surely be a big-selling title on 3D disc.

If any of this sound like "on the way out" to you, then we understand the marketplace differently.

As for Starz 3D, the quality has been rather poor (as is true even with their 2D OnDemand selections). But the real reason that the 3D was pulled is because their contract with Disny is almost over. In the future, Disney titles (including Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm) will not appear on Starz in any format. (I believe Netflix will have those rights now.)

Of course, anone who wishes to contact Starz re: 3D should send an e-mail: http://www.starz.com/contact

Yes, but streaming is becoming way more popular than DVD sales and rentals.

But this topic is really best left for another forum.

As someone stated, contact Stars to request 3D VOD.

More popular than rentals, yes (primarily since Redbox and Netflix are the only wide-scale rental outlets). Streaming is fine for those who want to pay more and get less. But for sales, digital is NOT doing well at all, with discs sales still easily outstripping digital to the tune of billions.

I agree that all who enjoy the advantages of 3D should contact Starz and let them know. It may not help with the Disney titles but might get them to add others.
