I have a Motorola HD QIP 7100 1 STB in my bedroom. Switched from a Panasonic 26" table mount to a Panasonic 32" wall mount. Used the same component cables and audio cables from one TV to the next. I will be using a HDMI cable as soon as it arrives from Monoprice.
The issues are as follows:
Time is no longer displayed on the STB when the STB is off. It used to be displayed on the front of the STB when the STB was off. Now it is just blank. Time shows up after channel is entered when the STB is on.
I used to be able to enter the exact numbers for each desired channel and it would switch immediately. If I wanted HGTV on 665, I would enter 6-6-5 and it would switch right away. Now I have found i have to enter 0-6-6-5 to get the channel to switch right away. If I just enter 6-6-5 it takes 10 plus seconds to switch.
Any fixes to get the clock to display when the STB is off and allow for entry of channel numbers without putting a 0 in front?
Thanks.

Thanks. I now have the clock displayed when the STB is off. Wish this had an auto dim feature, but I know this box is not capable of being dimmed either manually or automatically. At least I have the clock display now--thanks again
Sounds like the settings on your STB got reset .... I"m not near an STB where I can get the exact sequence of menus, but both of these are selectable options in the configuration menu on the STB -- press Menu on the remote and look in the System setup area.

What area are you located in?
I'm west of Baltimore, MD.
The need to enter a zero before entering the channels numbers has magically stopped so I can now enter the channel number directly and it changes within a second or two.
Still do not have a clock displayed when the STB is turned off.
There is an option to turn off the clock display when the box is off. I know this because I have mine set that way. I wanted to see clearly when the box was off, because I found the clock display to look too much like the channel display.
.
The path is: Menu--->Settings--->Set-top Box--->Standby Front Display--->OK
Your choices are "Show Time" and "Turn Off"

The ironoc part of your answer is that since the display can't be dimmed VZ added the OFF selection for those that complained the display was too bright (especially in a bedroom)
