TV Install

I am thinking of betting a new TV. Will my existing STB need to be reset or replaced?

The only time you "need" to replace your STB would be if the STB did not have the outputs necessary to connect it to your TV.  However, this is rarely the case.  Now, you may "want" to upgrade your STB to an HD STB if you are going to be purchasing an HD capable TV.  If you are getting an HD TV, you want your Verizon STB to be one of these model #'s:

6200 (HD)

6416 (HD/DVR)

7100 (HD)

7216 (HD/DVR)

If you look at bottom left of the face of your STB (where the clock is located) you will find a model number.  If it is one of the above, then you will be able to receive HD content.  If you have either a digital adapter, a 2500, or a 2708, you will not be able to receive HD content.
