TV is black when I turn

But there is a white outlined box in upper left corner with channel numbers running continually with DTV Air written above it. How can I get rid of this and get my channels to appear ?

You have changed the TV to the cable/antenna remote.
Try switching the input on your TV to the port that STB is connected to.
