A couple of minutes after hitting the power button on the remote, the tv turns back on. I turned off the screen saver, and that helped once, but it's happening again.
Solved! Go to Correct Answer
Try putting the remote in a drawer after turning TV off.
Its possible the power button is sticking.
Also, watch the led on top of remote.
See if it flashes before TV turns on.
Or maybe your neighbor has the same TV and their remote is working on your TV??
My Tv turns on by itself with the new equipment hooked to it..... the only way it will not is if I disconnect the HDMI cable from the back off the SBT... 8 calls to customer service...

Do you have CEC enabled on TV and STB?
If so, try turning that off.
What’s CEC?

Consumer Electronics Control. Turn off: menu>settings>audio and video>video settings>video input control. That stops the Fios box from sending any commands to your TV or receiver. As far as the TV affecting the Fios box you need to look for the brand of your TV online and search for CEC for that brand. Disabling it in the TV will stop the TV from affecting the Fios box.
