The End Of Fios Tv As We Know It?

Google "verizon active video" to see that major changes could be happening soon to the verizon fios network specifically fios tv. Verizon just lost a major patent lawsuit where they were accused of using someone else's design to create what people know as fios tv. Now verizon must pay 11 million a month until next may and has to come up with a whole new look along with a new design for fios because active video wants compensation. Verizon is currently working with cisco for a new look to their fios tv and they are also appealing the decision that was made against them. Starting on december 1 verizon must pay 11 million per month for the current look that they have for their fios tv until they get rid of it which must happen before may 23, 2012. Verizon customers who are complaining a lot about how much they hate the new guide and how it looks could be soon seeing some major changes to it with a very new look with a new design that will have to be different from what the current guide is. In the meantime verizon is currently scheduled to be adding some more spanish channels to their guide later tonight.

I am sure Verizon worked very closely with Motorola and Cisco for the current hardware designs, so most likely it would be another software change to the Motorola, and Cisco boxes that are out there now. I hardly think it will be the Armageddon of FiOS TV.

Just my opinion.

Verizon could choose to properly license the technology from ActiveVideo and end the fight.  According to coverage of the case, Verizon had the chance to use the ActiveVideo technology years ago and chose to try to design their own instead.
