Turning Off TV with Remote Displays Film for Rent

This is a constant problem. Turning off the TV via the remote brings me to a FIOS screen promoting a film available for rent. I must double click to turn the thing off.

, sometimes having to turn it on again just to turn it off. This isn't a remote issue. It's a marketing ploy.

There is a setting in eitherthe system or video menu if I remember correctly,  that allows you to avoid those )listings. You will however see a Fios splash screen with the time.

You must not be turning off the TV.

If TV was off, your screen would be blank.

You are turning off the STB which is showing the screensaver.

You can't disable the screensaver.
