Universal Sports in Ultimate HD package

Every channel listing I see on the Verizon web site indicates that the Universal Sports HD channel (channel 804) is included as part of the Ultimate HD package.  (It's shown with a check mark, not a dollar sign.)  The package description for the Sports Pass package (which includes the Universal Sports HD channel) also says that the Sports Pass package is includes in the Ultimate HD package.  And, even if I wanted to add the Sports Pass package, there's no option to do so when I pull up my package information.  And, yet, I do not get that channel, and I spent 4 hours in a customer service chat this afternoon, with 9 different poeople, going around and around on the issue (2 said I was entitled to the channel, the rest said I wasn't).  In the end, I was offered the opportunity to pay $11.99/month to add the Sports Pass package if I wanted to add channel 804.

Am I crazy, or is this directly inconsistent with everything on the FIOS web site regarding the Ultimate HD package and the Sports Pass package?

I have Ultimate and don't have 804.

So it appears you will need Sports Package.

Thanks.  At yet, if you go to the premium channel listing on the FIOS web site (at http://www.verizon.com/home/fiostv/#premium-channels), select the "Sports" tab and select "Sports Pass," it clearly says "Sports Pass included in Ultimate HD package."

And, when I click the order button for the Sports Pass to see what would happen, it takes me to the Premium Channel upgrade page for my package, and the Sports Pass isn't even listed as an available option.

I don't know for sure, since they have changed some things.  But for me when I just went to one of the channels that are in the sports pack (804) on the STB and click on it, it tells me it is included in my package (Ultimate).  Just have to activate it.  Apparently Verizon is trying to save a few buck by not automatically activating it.   They have dropped it off my current channels several times over the last few years as this is not the first time I had to activate.

RichardZ,

Because it is included you will not find an option on the website to add the sports package to you subscription.  Note that in the past those using other devices such as TIVO and Home run, have had trouble getting it activated.  For them a call/chat is necessary and you need to get to someone that understands the problem and nows how to get it activated for them.

When I checked last night, it showed Sports Pack and made it look more like I needed to purchase sports pak vs just activating it.
Thought I even did the check and it said channel was not inlcuded.

Will check again this evening.

That would be the same for me. I have Ultimate as well and it includes ALL the Sports Pack channels. You may need to re-activate it, on occasion some of the sports channels look like I no longer have them. It's just a matter of reactivating them. Don't worry, it won't cost anything.

So, just to close the loop on this issue, about 2 weeks after my initial, unsuccessful interaction with Verizon regarding this issue, I got a call from them out of the blue, informing me that they have added the Sports Pass package to my service at no charge.  The person who called me acknowledged that, as an Ultimate HD package subscriber, I was entitled to those channels at no additional charge, but they needed to be separately activated.  I just wish that at least one of the many customer service reps I dealt with on my initial 4 hour on-line chat had been aware of this fact.
