Verizon has announced that they have come to an agreement with univision where there will be carrying univision telenovelas, univision deportes and Foro Tv which will be a 24/7 news channel in spanish. Rupert murdoch is also getting into the spanish porgramming game as he is set to launch a new channel in the fall called Mundo Fox which will be a new channel that verizon will be adding down the line. There is no specific date for the release of these channels but the univision telenovela deal was thought to be a dish network deal only just like epix 2 until verizon like most providers realized how huge an audience there is for spanish programming where there are a lot of spanish speaking potential customers that could be added if they were to have that kind of content. Another soap opera channel like univision telenovelas is not really necessary but the univision sports channel and a news channel would be welcome additions. Hopefully verizon will finally add gol tv hd, espn deportes hd, peru magico, canal sur peru, latino america tv since most providers have those channels. At the very least verizon should be able to match what the competition has where there is a huge demographic that wants that kind of content where that demographic has billions of dollars in spending money where they would love to sign up with verizon fios if there were to add those channels.
