Upgrading but Losing Channels

i just upgraded from Prime to Extreme and gained channels but lost some like Hallmark Movie Channel. It's ridiculous to remove a channel like that.

Welcome to our nightmare.  I have Extreme, and they took away HMC-HD and MGM-HD.   Just a guess, but it might be because of the EPIX Channel.  They needed subscribers, but they weren't getting them.  So they elimante channel we enjoy and put them on a Tier that has EPIX.. If you want HMC and MGM, one know has to sign up for the Ultimate package and voila!

Now EPIX has more subscribers.  Ironically, there is a preview of EPIX this coming weekend in order to gain additional subs.

For me, since EPIX eliminates picture info from new release films, I refuse to pay for it (it's why I drop other pay channels that alter movies,  STARZ, and HBO, as well as Video-On-Demand movies)..  Your mileage may vary.

Welcom to the Verizon model for tier definitions.  Moving up a tier, you lose channels - the only provider I am aware of that does this.  I went through the same thing as Film11 - I upgraded to the Exteme (2009) and then later lost the channels when Verizon re-arranged the tiers.  Makes no sense other than to try to force you to upgrade to a yet higher tier for more money.

I agree that getting fewer channels the higher you go in the levels seems wrong. Many were distressed to lose MGMHD, HallmarkHD, etc last year, and indeed it has been noticed. When I went to swap out a STB for a replacement last fall, I politely mentioned it to the clerk and she said that the feedback had been quite negative but that the channels would be reinstated for whomever requested it (at no additional charge). I got to pick two of three, declining some sports package, and now have MGMHD and HallmarkHD back with my Extreme package. Maybe my situation was unique, but it might not hurt to ask. Good luck.

I want to see the Australian Broadcasting Corporation news channel, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and the religious channel, NRB.
