Upgrading equipment.

I have had Fios for 4 years. If I renew for anougher 2 years, should I be thinking of replacing converter boxes and remotes with newer equipment?

 Equipment is independent of contract.

You can add or delete at anytime.

You might ask if you can get a discount if you upgrade while renewing though.

If you are renting the equipment as part of the contract, then how exactly is the equipment considered "independent" of said contract?

I think it is reasonable to expect an equipment refresh with each contract renewal, why pay for old equipment?

Ypur contract is just for services.

You have no contract for the equipment itself.
Meaning you can drop equipment at any time with no penalty.

And Verizon can raise prices at any time.
