Dear FiOS® TV Customer,
From time to time, channel lineup changes are necessary to enhance our content offerings. On or after January 24, 2011, ABC News Now (channel 108) and Blue Highways (channel 246) will no longer be available in the 2010 Extreme HD package (ordered on or after January 17, 2010). If you've recently changed your TV package, this notice may not apply to you.
What is this? I really don't care about those channels but why is verizon taking them away? I thought fios didn't do that kind of stuff that cable did. I honestly thought they just added channels not took them away. Someone explain please because this seems like a time warner or comcast move. Hopefully verizon didn't become greedy priks.
As it becomes more expensive to carry some channels, they have to remove a channel or two from certain packages instead of raising the price. That's the business of multichannel video. Programmers demand certain prices and placement, while some customers demand that distributors keep all the channels they have without raising rates. The only way for short term solutions is to have twaeaks in the lineup like this one.
they remove many channels , and do it in the middle of your contract also, when you call and ask about the contract you sign.....there reply is, the contract is only for the amount of money you agree to pay monthly????? i said well the amount of money we agreed on was for the service we were offered. the normal person would not agree on a package if the next day you can take all the best channels away???. but they really could care less, just keep sending checks. i thought the fios was a good thing in the beginning ..I WAS SADLY MISTAKEN. just wait it will only get worse, there going to take channel till everyone is on there most expensive plan ,

Complaints will get you nowhere. This is a peer to peer support group. Customers helping other customers. The only help I can give you is to say call and cancel. If you get the retention department, they may offer you something you can't refuse. All companies add and take away channels. If Verizon moves something to a higher tier, it is most likely because the costs have gone up. Yes I am on their most expensive plan because I too wanted some of those channels back. I was happy to switch when I found out I could get that plan for about what I was paying for Extreme HD. Now I have everything and faster Internet. I may not keep it that way but it was my choice. I could have canceled but actually upgraded with a newer commitment. So complain all you want, it will not change anything.
