So, now that we have a set top box that is 4k capable, what's the plan for providing 4k content?

Wouldn’t that depend on the individual stations? Or is Fios going to transmit in 4K?
i think it all depends on programming.
Verizon just passes the signal from providers to the customers. The Networks are the one who will be responsible for broadcasting 4k.
In the mean time if you use Netflix they have 4k content. It think it's channel 838 on the STB. Also Verizon will probably offer 4k content On Demand.
The bad news is they briefly had one in Beta. it used a totally different distribution (IPTV) for its programming. A few people here even had it. Unfortunately they cancelled the Beta and decided not to do forward with the STB.
Not sure if the Non disclosure agreement still keeps those in the Beta from talking. I haven't heard any rumors of new UHD service.
ATSC 3.0, the new standard for broadcast, includes UHD and is in early trials in the U.S. It also is designed to include IPTV based cable. Anyone live in Phoenix? Once this becomes more available we MAY see something for FIOS.
