Over on the other post about suggestion for channels to add, can we get an update from Verizon if any of these will ever be added?
Since it was started by Verizon someone from VZ should go through the list of channels being requested and indicate a status. Something like planned for 2010, never, coming soon, etc. Something would be nice.
I agree, but Verizon is typically very tight lipped about any changes to their network. Good luck getting any sort of definitive answer.
I visit this board a lot and pass information back and forth with a friend that works for Verizon Fios Tech support. That thread was started at the request of an employee. The Verizon people that visit this board to help are doing so on their own time as it is not a "Verizon" official page. This was set up for user to user support. Many of the channels being requested here were being passed along to the "higher ups" but many of the requests were being sent back to those individuals in some cases saying that there was not a high enough demand for those channels and therefore were not even being considered. The employees started that thread so that all the requests could be confined to one single thread so that they can go back to the "higher ups" and say "see all these requests for these channels". Its an effort for the people at the bottom of the totem pole to try and influence the decisions made by people that have no contact with the public in general. This is actually individuals at Verizon trying to work on your behalf. Problem is, is that even if it is working, none of the people here are likely to know. When Verizon decides to add channels, the only announcement they usually put out is one saying something like, "we will be adding 12 new channels in Feb 2009" or some other generic announcement and we have to wait and see what those channels are when they roll them out.
Thanks for your reply but I have to ask the question about the purpose of these forums.
These forums are being hosted on a Verizon.com website, the community blogs have comments from the high ups within Verizon. how can you say its not official. Seems kinda official to me. I can understand if a thread like this was started on dslreports but this is totally being supported on a verizon.com web site.
I do appreciate your response but honestly feedback like you are providing should be posted by one of the Verizon employee's to show that Verizon does care and is actively trying to do something with the information being posted.
Thanks, Jim
In each forum folder. At the top you should see this phrase
"These Forums are a peer-to-peer support channel in which users help other users. If you need an answer from Verizon directly please Contact Us."
As stated some techs pop in now and then but it's pretty hit or miss.
I've heard that G4, E!, and STYLE HD channels may be added soon. Don't know about anything else, except for the upcoming rate increases.
