Why are some Yankee games only on TW13 and not carried on YES? Last night the Red Sox/Yankee game was supposedly carried on TBS, but that cahnnel was unavailable unless it was just my connection.

By your question, I'll assume that you are in the Yankees / Mets TV territory, but outside of the local NYC broadcast area. The Yankees have a deal with my9 (WWOR) to carry a certain number of games, and these games are not on YES, although I guess the replays are. Since you are within the Yankees territory, TW13 is the only channel for your area to show the my9 games. All non-exclusive national broadcasts (TBS, ESPN Mon-Sat) are blacked out for your area whenever the Yankees or Mets are playing.

This situation will not apply for the playoffs. TBS and FOX have exclusive national rights for all playoff games.
