Looking at the new channel lineups. I recently lost two movie channels. MGM HD and Hallmark movies HD. So what did I get in return for losing these movie channels?? Thinking about going back to comcast if verizon is all take and no give.
I'm in the same boat as you. They moved these channels a few others ( .tv ) channels into the ultimate packages. Sad Sad Sad.
You got Investigation Discovery HD and Nat Geo Wild HD. There are rumors of more HD channels coming too. I'm not saying you like these channels or will ever watch them, but that's what you got in return.
I am angry that GolTV is being taken away. How is this not bait and switch? Here you get these channels for a year+, oh but now if you want to keep watching them you need to pay an extra $20/month! What a ripoff.
Almost makes me want to change back to the other evil empire.
As frustrating as it is I still think FIOS is a better value between the channel line up, HD and availability of VOD. My cable company may offer a larger DVR but the multi-room feature is something we use all the time and they don't offer that.
verizon already took my GolTV away this past month due to their own billing issues. Verizon repeatedly charged another person's credit card (my landlord!) for my Fios package even though I was enrolled in Autopay. Managers had "fixed" the issue a number of times over the past 3 years, only to have it resurface on a fairly regular basis. A verizon rep told us the only way to avoid the issue would be to cancel my TV and have my landlord add it to his Fios Internet account. We were ensured that we would not lose any channels if we got the same package. WRONG. Apparently I had Extreme HD 2009 which had grandfathered in GolTV, whereas Extreme HD 2010 removed that channel (and others) from the package. Typical. And no, it doesn't make it any better knowing that thousands of other customers will essentially lose these same channels in the very near future. Straight up scam.
Where can I find the new channel line-ups? When I look at My Programming and My Channels, it still shows that I should have the ones that are saying on the TV "You are not subscribed." Comcast kept doing this to us and that's one of the reasons we switched to Verizon a year ago.

When you go here and enter your Zip Code, it should display all the correct line-ups.

Unfortunately, this is a problem with EVERY cable company. Always has been and always will be. This is not the first time this has happened with Verizon and I guarantee it will not be the last. Switching companies will also do no good (other than possibly making you feel better for a short time) as there is not a company you can go to that wont do the same thing.
What surprises me is all the uproar over this. You'd think this was the first time a company removed channels or moved channels to another package. This has been a common practice (not saying that its right, just saying its a fact of life) for decades. I still remember when cable companies first came up with "basic cable" and "tier two cable". At that time it seemed that channels moved up and down almost weekly.
Now the only way it will ever stop is if the cable companies loose hundreds of thousands of customers when they do this. And lets be honest, that will never happen as there is no way to organize that many people. Oh you may get a few hundred people, or maybe even a thousand. But compared to the millions of customers these big companies have, its just a drop in the bucket. And even if they do loose a few customers, as long as they gain more than they loose, they dont care. And Verizon FIOS TV service is growing all the time.

Keep in mind that it will not show the "Extreme 2009" channels only the current Extreme package ("Extreme 2010") channels.
Also, the OK button does not work with FireFox (ver. 3.6.10 - at least for me). Had to use IE to get it to continue to the listings after entering my zip code.
