Although not Verizon Fios this link should still be of assistance.

In todays new DVD players it is very simple to do.
No. Stb does not support pass through.

Mine does. My DVD player is hooked up to my STB & TV through HTML 2.
I have to use the DVD player or the actual tv remote to make the switch to HTML 2 as well as everything else pertaining to the DVD player. However, the FIOS remote works the DVD player volumne. Nothing else on the DVD player.
So it sounds like you have stb hooked up to one TV input and stb to another.
Vs the back of the stb that was asked about.
And remote typically only controls TVs and stb.
Hi grotman:
Is my den set up what you are trying to do ?

All I can tell you is that on the back of my STB are 3 connections. One of them is connected to HTML 1 which controls the TV. The other is connected to the back of my DVD player in the HTML slot. Then there is a wire going into the TV HTML 2 slot which controls the DVD player.
And remote typically only controls TVs and stb.
For some strange reason, the FIOS remote can control the volumne on the DVD player but nothing else.
My TV remote can control everything on the STB except On Demand.
FWIW....
My tv w/the above setup is a Toshiba. It is not a smart tv.
When the tech was installing FIOS, he told me HTML connections will work best for me on all my tvs rather than "channel 3" or ColorStream HD.
Don't understand.
Do you have HDMI connections from TV to stb and another to DVD player?
If so, then if you have connection from DVD player to stb, which connection is it? What model stb do you have?
