I would like to connect my laptop to my tv using a vga cable.  my goal is to be able to use the tv like a second monitor.

Today’s technology is use HDMI from the laptop to the TV (it must be a newer tv)

no more vga

If you TV has a VGA or PC port, sure, you just need a cable to do it.

Or if TV does not have VGA/PC port, then look for an adapter that converts from VGA to an input your TV does have.

Not a FIOS issue.

All in what your TV supports.
