Why does the tv screen go black when watching for no reason.  There is no sound either.  To get back to live Tv sometimes we can change to a different channel, other times we have to turn it off, go thru the "download process" and yet other times it will eventually come back on by itself.

What model STB?

Do you have more than 1?

If so, do they all exhibit this issue?

If not all, try swapping them around to see if issue follows STB or that particular connection.

sorry for the delay.  The issue only happens on the primary tv and it is the multi room dvr.  I have rebooted a few times, has not happened in a few days but it not only happens to me but also another family members house.

Have you tried swapping it with another box?

This will help determine if it is coax connection or box.
