flex pay vs. free movies

maybe someone can help me understand this.  i want to watch the movie elf on christmas day with friends and family.  this is where it gets "unpleasant".  on christmas i will be charged a flex rental fee to watch that movie.  however, if i wanted to watch it on 12/27 it will be free.  now that's the christmas spirit, verizon.  make a few bucks on the holiday. if this isn't a double standard please tell what is.  in clear conscience how can you do this.  and i would venture to guess that this isn't the only movie  with a similar situation.  jingle bells
