It's most likely a part time feed that requires switching, and Verizon does not carry those. Last year, Capitals fans pressed both CSN Washington and Verizon to deal with this, and we finally got CSN to develop a full time feed of CSN+ that Verizon now carries on channel 334. If you want your suggestion to be acknowledged and reviewed by Verizon management, post it at Share Your Ideas with Verizon
I too was upset last year during the 09/10 NHL season when multiple Dallas Stars games were shunted to FSSW+ and we had no idea if that channel even existed in FiOS's mind. Also during last year, when I called to inquire, it took a couple of minutes to explain to the people on the phone that no, I was not talking about regular FSSW but FSSW+.
Well, at this year's first broadcast change of a Stars game to FSSW+, I was worried. Though we were told on the Stars message boards/website that Verizon had the ability to show FSSW+ and was working on it, we saw no movement.
However, there may be hope, and hopefully I'll report success on seeing the game tomorrow night.

For tomorrow's game, we'll have FSSW+ on Verizon Fios – Channel 333. Previous to today, it was still saying TBD on teh website.
So, I'll report back tomorrow night. The channel currently shows as "Big Ten 4" for us, but I'm hoping the guide is updated and will show the correct programming info. Otherwise I'm afraid that when I go to set my DVR to record the Stars game, I'll be out of luck.
If this works and we do get the channel and info correctly, then thanks to Verizon for working on that and getting this Stars fan all of the games.
My apologies for not replying sooner. I am happy to say that in my area at least (North DFW Metroplex), FSSW+ is coming through on channel 333, confirming what the Stars website reported.
A possible con: I don't have HD, but I have a digital tv that will take an HD signal and an HD DVR box and it at least gives it to me letterboxed usually. I'm not seeing this on the channel, perhaps its in HD but I can't confirm that on my end.
Tonight's game is also listed correctly in the guide, so I have to give a hat tip to Verizon for getting this up and going. This Stars fan greatly appreciates being able to see every Stars game.
Two notes:
1. This channel is not in HD.
2. They showed the UT game on FSSW+ on 333 yesterday.
So, you can pretty much count on this being the case anytime something is on FSSW+
