I just read online that the fcc's deadline to make a decision on allowing msg hd on verizon fios was suppose to be occur on 12/8/09, does anyone know the outcome?
It doesn't look like anything has been made public yet. I remember at least one instance where a decision was posted on the FCC website a couple days after it was issued. Maybe it has something to do with the parties involved being able to review the documents.
Now I'll throw out my opinion. The "terrestrial loophole", while completely outdated, was intended to keep programmers from having to completely change the way they distribute their signals. It is not there so sports programmers can pick and choose who they sell their signals to, just like MSG and Channel 4 San Diego are both doing with Verizon and AT&T respectively. Both of these channels just happen to be owned by cable companies. It's way past time for this loophole to be closed.
