multiple tries and up to 30 minutes for my 2009 Samsung TV to get a working FIOS video sign

this started happening a while back, when we try to turn on the tv and connect to the box we get no signal, then a very disrted video signal, then after the tv turns itself on and off up to 30 times we get a video signal.  sometimes it takes an hour to get a picture. we changed our set top box a few months ago but it gets worse. tv is fine when we access the menu.  running through a yamaha home theater receiver.  any ideas?

What model stb do you have? Do you have an issue if you connect stb direct to tv?
