oob messgae on STB

My STB doesn't respond to my remote and indicates "oob". Has anyone experienced this?

Hey did you try unplugging the power cord for 10 secs then plug in back and let the STB reset when the time comes up try using the remote again so have you try replacing the batteries.

Based on the message of "OOB" I would assume that there is insufficient Out of Band signal and that the box can't initialize its authorization. I would double check all the coax connections from the STB back to the ONT (including all splitters). I might also try a direct connection from the STB to the splitter at the ONT if you can to see if that clears up the issue.
Hope my "educated guess" helps. If not, you need to get Verizon out to figure out what is wrong.
