I had new dvr for 2 weeks, when sound started dropping out when I changed channels. It's connected to my receiver thru optical and digital coaxial cables. My receiver is 10 years old and doesn't have HDMI input. By changing inputs with the remote, I can get sound back. First Verizon said it was a software issue. They had changed it and caused other problems. They said it would be fixed at next 'patch' download in mid October. Now they say they didn't have record of problem. It's a run around. Does anybody else have this problem?
Only issue I have is a a delay with sound kicking in when changing channels. My receiver is connected by optical as well. I have no audio drop outs, just the short few second delay when changing channels.
